Geneva Airport is the front door to the finest skiing in the Alps. Here is how a private chauffeur takes you from the runway to the slopes — to Courchevel, Verbier and beyond — without a single line, chain or wrong turn.
Every winter, the world’s best resorts fill with travellers who land in Geneva and still have one journey left: the drive into the mountains. It is the part of the trip where things most often go wrong — late trains, queues for a taxi, a hire car you do not want to drive on an icy pass. A private chauffeur removes all of it. You land, you are met, and you arrive at your chalet rested.
This guide covers the two most requested routes from Geneva — Courchevel and Verbier — plus the other Alpine resorts we serve, the right vehicle for your skis, and what to expect on a winter transfer.
For a ski trip, the journey from Geneva is where comfort is won or lost. Against the usual options, a chauffeur wins on every count:
Courchevel is the jewel of the Three Valleys and one of the most requested transfers of the season. The drive from Geneva is roughly 150 km and around two and a half hours, depending on weather and traffic on the final mountain road up from Moûtiers.
It is a journey best made in comfort. The last stretch climbs through tight switchbacks, and in a confident, quiet cabin it becomes part of the experience rather than something to endure. For couples and small groups travelling with full ski kit, a spacious SUV is ideal — think the presence of a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class for refinement, or a larger SUV when there is more gear to carry.
Verbier sits on the Swiss side, which keeps the drive almost entirely within Switzerland — around 160 km and about two hours from Geneva, much of it on fast motorway before the climb up from Le Châble. It is one of the smoothest transfers of all the major resorts.
Verbier draws a crowd that values discretion as much as the off-piste, and a private chauffeur fits the rhythm of the resort — quiet arrivals, flexible timing and a driver who is there when you need to move between the chalet, the slopes and dinner.
Geneva opens onto far more than two resorts. From the airport, a chauffeur can take you to:
Ski-season tip. Saturdays in high season are the busiest transfer days of the year, and the best vehicles book out first. If your trip falls on a peak weekend, reserve as early as you can — and tell us your equipment, so we send a vehicle with room to spare.
The number of passengers matters, but with a ski trip the real question is luggage. A few simple guidelines:
If you are unsure, just tell us how many of you are travelling and what you are bringing. We will match the vehicle to the gear, not the other way around.
Booking is the same calm process as any AURLYS journey — and we cover it in full in our how-to guide to booking a chauffeur in Geneva. For a ski transfer specifically:
Geneva to Courchevel is around two and a half hours (about 150 km); Geneva to Verbier is roughly two hours (about 160 km). Both vary with weather and traffic, especially on peak-season Saturdays.
For two people with skis, a large saloon or mid-size SUV is plenty. For families or groups, the Mercedes V-Class gives individual seats and room for all the gear. Tell us your party size and equipment and we will match the right vehicle.
Yes. Our vehicles are winter-equipped and our chauffeurs know the Alpine passes, so you can relax on the climb up to the resort whatever the conditions.
Absolutely. We track your inbound flight and build the pickup around it, whether you land at dawn or well after dark.
Yes — Courchevel, Megève, Chamonix, Val d’Isère and Tignes on the French side, Verbier, Gstaad and Zermatt on the Swiss side, and others on request.
Tell us your resort, your flight and your group, and we will take care of the drive — door to door, from Geneva to the snow.
